Unfortunately, two of my blues ran. I'm heartbroken - 3 hours of work on a 6" block. But I have some synthrapol on order. We'll see if that plus a dye magnet might save the day!

I just washed a quilt I'd finished, one of the most complex I've ever made, and two of the fabrics I used bled through. Initially only to the back along the quilting lines. I had used dye catchers but obviously not sufficient. I used stain remover and washed again big mistake. Now it's really bad. Do you think it would be too late to try Synthrapol? I can get it in the UK but not able to find dye magnet. Is a dye magnet similar to our colour catchers or do you know?
ReplyDeleteHi - Dye magnet and colour catchers are the same thing. As for synthrapol, I'm nervous advising someone to use chemicals on their quilts, but I will tell you I had miraculous results in the past. It has saved a few things for me. I would order it (if you can get it at a reasonable price in the UK), and test it on an area of the quilt.

In your picture you can't even see where the dye ran. I think this one is my favorite block so far. Beautifully done!
